VeggiePets.com launches first all vegetarian pet store
Vegetarian dog and cat food is now easier to find
than ever before.
VeggiePets launched its new online shop today with
a wide range of vegetarian dog foods and treats.
Store managers Damian Eadie and Darrell de Vries explained
how the store came about. "We've both been vegetarian for years and
we noticed that vegetarian pet food isn't catered for properly in
the UK", de Vries explains, "While many vegetarians feed their
pets meat, some find the contradiction of feeding an animal they love
the remains of a less fortunate creature, harder to live with".
So that's great for the owner but what about the pets?
"Dogs have no problem being vegetarian, dogs do not need to eat meat
to live as they can find all the nutrition that they require from non-animal
sources" Eadie explains, "by their nature, dogs are omnivores
and will have a go at eating anything. Vegetarian diets are well known
for relieving arthritis, skin and fur problems and obesity in dogs".
de Vries added "on a well prepared diet with the right supplements,
even cats can be vegan. We have a cat food supplier lined up, we still
need to gauge the demand for vegetarian cat products before going ahead
and importing by the pallet load", de Vries continues "anyone
interested in vegetarian cat food products can register their interest
on the website".
VeggiePets also announced that they were giving away free samples to everyone
who filled in a six question, spam free questionnaire while stocks last.
