A nutritious combination which, because of its soothing properties and high digestibility, has been traditionally used for weaning young animals and for convalescents during recovery.
The highly digestible ingredients and low fat content make this an ideal food to aid poor digestion and malabsorption. Its mucilaginous properties sooth the digestive system and are therefore beneficial for acute intestinal absorption disorders. It can be given during, and in the recovery p[eriod following, acute diarrhoea and colitis.
May be given when necessary or used indefinately if required.
Ingredients:
Contains 90% Slippery Elm Bark (Ulmus fulva) powder, 10% White Poplar Bark (Populus tremuloides) powder.
Recommended Administration:
Convalescents, puppies and kittens: Mix one 5ml teaspoonful to each pint of skimmed milk or natural live yogurt. A little honey (or malt syrup) should be added to taste.
For pancreatic insufficiency, malabsorption, maldigestion and during periods of and recovery from acute diarrhoea:
Give one 5ml teaspoonful per 10 kgs bodyweight mixed with a little liquid or sprinkled on food daily for one or two weeks as needed. May be given indefinately in cases of chronic pancreatic insufficiency. Suitable for animals from 8 weeks of age and may be given to pregnant and lactating females. It is recommended that you seek your vet's opinion before use. |
