Delivery Pricing for the UK

We can deliver all over the UK. You have a range of options for delivery services, including slower but cheaper options, or more premium express delivery. We have lot of tips to share on getting the best value for money from delivery - the full details are explained below:

Please note - transit times are based on working days from dispatch not the day that you order. 
We cannot always dispatch the same day, especially if ordering at weekends or during public holidays.


Shipping Costs & Free Delivery

We do not currently offer 'free shipping' on any of our orders. Shipping costs can be quite high, depending on which service you select and where you are located.

while some companies offer free postage by raising their product prices to account for those hidden postage costs, we prefer to take a different approach. In order to be transparent with our customers, we like to alternatively keep our product prices as low as possible and offer a variety of affordable postage options - you choose what suits you best!

With delivery prices starting at just £3.95 - you can fill each parcel to the limit to get the best value for money (combined weight of goods is displayed in the checkout).

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight, size, delivery location, and chosen courier service and availability of each option will vary from order to order.

Courier Services & Availability

We offer a range of delivery options through DPD, Evri, and Royal Mail. Available shipping options vary based on the size and weight of your order, as well as your delivery location.

To view the options available for your specific order, simply add your items to your shopping basket, then enter your delivery postcode in the appropriate box at checkout and click ‘Go’. Our system will then display all eligible delivery services for your order and location.

Please note that available delivery options may change from order to order. If you do not see a specific courier service listed for your order, it means it is not available based on your orders size, weight or delivery location.

Estimated Delivery Times

Below are the estimated delivery times for each courier service and are not guaranteed. These estimated delivery times are from the date your order is dispatched, not the date your order is placed, and do not include additional time required to process, pick and pack your order. Keep an eye on your emails as we will send you an email to let you know when your order has been dispatched and will provide you with an idea of when your order will be delivered.

  • Evri - Best value for small & medium orders
    (Parcels up 14kg each: Generally the cheapest option - not always the fastest)
    • Standard Mainland UK: 2-5 working days
    • Premium Mainland UK: 1-3 working days
    • Scottish Highlands & Islands: 2-5 working days
    • Isle of Man: 2-5 working days
    • Northern Ireland: 2-5 working days

  • DPD - Best value for larger orders
    (Multiple parcels up 28.5kg each: Faster delivery but more expensive)

What is a 'Working Day'?

A working day is a standard day when businesses are open and conducting regular operations. At VeggiePets.com we are open Monday-Friday between 10am and 4pm, excluding public holidays.

Here is an example:
if your order is dispatched from our warehouse on a Tuesday and has an estimated delivery time of 2-3 working days, your estimated date of delivery will be Thursday-Friday that same week. However, if your order is dispatched from our warehouse on a Friday with an estimated delivery time of 2-3 working days, your estimated date of delivery will be Tuesday-Wednesday the following week. These examples would be for a week where there are no public holidays.

Tracking Your Order

All DPD and Evri orders are sent using a tracked service. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email from VeggiePets confirming your order is on the way. The courier will then send an additional email when your order is out for delivery, providing an estimated delivery time slot and a link to track your parcel.

If you won’t be home to receive your delivery, you can use your tracking link to:

  • Select an alternative delivery date
  • Request delivery to a neighbour
  • Choose a safe location for the courier to leave your parcel

Please note: If you choose to have your parcel delivered to a neighbour or a designated safe place, you assume full responsibility for its security once it has been left at your chosen specified location.

Providing Delivery Instructions

If you have specific delivery instructions, you must provide these directly to the courier using the tracking link or the courier’s mobile app. Due to an update in the way courier systems work, we cannot pass delivery instructions to the courier on your behalf.

Hard to Find Delivery Addresses

If you live in a remote area or have an address that is difficult to find, we highly recommend using  What3Words and inputting this information into your chosen courier mobile app.

What3Words is an innovative addressing system that has divided the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares, assigning each square a unique three-word combination. This provides a precise and reliable way to pinpoint locations, helping couriers find your exact delivery spot with ease. Using What3Words can reduce delays and ensure your parcel reaches you without confusion.

Once you have visited  What3Words and generated your 3 words for your desired delivery location, you can then enter this information into the ‘Delivery Preferences’ section on the DPD app or ‘My Places’ section on the Evri app.

Multi-Parcel Deliveries

If you place a large order, your order will be dispatched in multiple parcels. Whilst it makes sense to us for couriers to deliver your multiple parcels together, couriers may sometimes opt to deliver them at different times. You can allow a small amount of additional time for any missing parcels to arrive or contact us and we should be able to look the tracking up for each individual parcel.

Order in Advance

To ensure your pet never runs out of food, we strongly recommend placing your order well in advance. While we dispatch orders quickly, unforeseen courier delays can sometimes occur. If this happens, we will always go the extra mile to help resolve the issue, but this is exactly why delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Ordering ahead helps you avoid unnecessary stress and ensures your pet’s meals arrive in plenty of time.

Dispatch Times

Whilst we cannot guarantee same–day dispatch, our packing team works hard to pack and dispatch your orders as quickly as possible and this can sometimes be the same day that you place your order. Our busiest days are Monday and Tuesday due to processing orders which came in over the weekend in addition to daily orders. To stand the highest chance of a same-day dispatch, we recommend placing your order before 11am Tuesday-Thursday.

If you're running low on pet food or need your order delivered quickly, we highly recommend choosing one of the faster delivery options at checkout—preferably DPD, or Evri Premium as a secondary option, if available in your area.

Please note: once your order has been dispatched, there is no way for you to upgrade or change your courier service, so it is vital to select the best courier option for you during checkout.

International Shipping

We do not currently offer shipping outside of the UK. However, some of our international customers choose to use a parcel forwarding service, provided by an external company and sourced by the customer, to receive their orders. These third-party companies receive your parcel in the UK and then ship it to your international address.

If you choose to use a parcel forwarding company:
You will be responsible for any additional fees, such as shipping, customs and import fees. Some parcel forwarding companies have weight limits, so check their terms before placing an order. These companies operate independently from us, and we do not have any involvement or liability for your parcel once it has been delivered to the forwarding company.
