Benevo have recently introduced an updated recipe for their Benevo Cat food, now available in the 10KG bags. While the food remains 100% vegan and nutritionally complete, there have been some changes to the formulation which may be noticeable to both you and your cat.

Benevo have made some positive nutritional improvements to the 10kg cat food recipe, including:

✔ More protein

✔ Improved omega balance

✔ More calcium

✔ Increased taurine

✔ Added DL-Methionine & L-Carnitine

✔ Enhanced fibre source

There’s also a slightly smaller kibble size, making it easier for cats to chew.

Since we know cats can be a little fussy when it comes to change, we recommend that, if possible, you transition them slowly to get them used to the new formula. New smells, textures, or tastes may sometimes be met with hesitation, and a sudden switch can sometimes cause a mild upset tummy. For this reason, we recommend a slow and gradual transition wherever possible.

Our recommended transition method

When introducing the new Benevo cat food recipe, start by mixing small amounts with the old food over a period of around 7 days.

Gradually increase the amount of the new recipe in each portion until the old food is no longer required.

Cats generally cope much better with changes to their diet when they happen slowly. Switching too suddenly can sometimes result in them refusing the new food until their familiar recipe returns, so patience really pays off!
